Chapter 2 (sorry it's ridiculously long) xD
Dylan gathered her books and stuffed the heap of pencils she was
playing Pick Up Sticks with back in her Dooney & Bourke pencil case.
2nd period had just ended and it was time for lunch. But Dylan
wouldn't be eating lunch today. Instead she would be accepting her
spot back into the Pretty Committee. She could feel it.
Massie told her friends to meet her at their favorite maple tree
infront of BOCD for a quick meeting. They always used to make big
deccisons at that tree.
So Dylan passed the mob of kids pushing their way through the cafe's
double doors and sauntered down the front steps of the schools main
building and padded onto the giant, freshly cut lawn.
When she passed the fountain that Massies grandparents had donated to
the school, Dylan swiftly threw a penny into the rippling water,
making sure that no one noticed. She made a wish that everything would
be okay.
When she reached the maple tree, her former friends greeted her with a
smile.
"Yess. Okay now we can start." Massie said, composing herself into the
perfect stance for making a big announcement.
After a short pause, Massie started. "I gathered you all here today to
welcome an old friend back into the Pretty Committee."
"Yaayyy!" everyone squeeled and jumped up and down.
Massie let the applause die down and then continued. "Although she did
force us to ditch her when she became a toh-tal LBR, I think we can
all admit that we kinda missed her." Massie smiled.
"Ah-greed!" Kristen, Alicia, and Claire said in unison.
"BUT!!! To make it ah-fficial, you have to find a decent single guy
that we would approve of by the end of the school day or you're out.
Forever." Massie checked her over-sized purple Coach watch. ""You have
3 hours." Massie announced, like a bomb telling you in it's robotic
voice how long you had before it blows.
"Since when did we have to complete missions to become a member of
TPC?" Dylan said in a defensive voice. Still wide eyed and shocked by
Massies sudden rule change.
"Since you turned suicidal with your social status! I have to make
sure you still have good taste!" Massie explained.
"I didnt go that crazy! And I still have good taste! Really! You have
no idea wh-"
"2 hours and 58 minutes!!!" Massie cut her off.
"Ugh!" Dylan turned her back on the PC and speed walked as fast as her
heels would take her to the café. Silently, but not willingly,
accepting Massies challenge.

Dylie stood on top of a deserted bamboo table, scanning the café for
the soccer guys and trying to think up a decent explanation she would
tell one of them so he wouldn't feel like he was being used, which he
would be.
"What are you doing up there?" Kori giggled, startling Dylan out of
her train of thought and making her jump.
Dylan scooted off her table and stood to face Kori. "Oh! Hey! Do you
know where the guys are?" Dylan didn't even bother saying the SOCCER
guys. They had become so popular since they came to OCD in the 8th
grade that they're not just any guys now, they're THE guys, and
everyone knew them by that title.
"They just left for soccer practice." Kori stated blankly.
"Good! They're right outside!" Dylan dashed for the exit but was
stopped by Kori's hand grabbing her arm. "No. Didn't you hear?" Kori
asked, surprised.
"Hear what?" Dylan asked, turning around to face Kori.
"The soccer field is toh-tally flooded. Principle Burns thinks it was
some kids making a practical joke who did it. I'm on the case. NO ONE
GETS AWAY WITH IT WITH ME IN THEIR WAY!!!" Kori shouted to the
remaining few people left in the café.
"Uhmm, oh-kay. So where are they?!?!" Dylan asked, impatiently
snapping her fingers.
"Oh yeah! They went to Greenway Prep or something..."
"Ugh! That's like an hour away! I don't have time for an hour away!
I'm never gonna complete this mission!" Dylan cried out.
"What mission??" Kori asked eagerly. But Dylan had already vanished.
Desperately searching for hawt guys.

By the end of 4th period Dylan was hopeless. She had already inspected
every boy she saw, and none of them were up to Massies standards.
She only had 30 minutes left. She knew that because Massie had taped a
piece of her purple monogrammed paper on her locker door saying so.
Dylan crumpled up the paper and placed her forehead on the chilled
metal locker door, but no releafe came to her like it usually did when
she did this. The bell rang and everyone scattered to there next
class, leaving Dylan to mourn alone.
She placed her back to the lockers and skid to the floor, head hanging
low. She felt close to passing out from all the stress. She lay down
on the cold marble floor, not even caring about the eraser shavings
she'd have to pick off her sweater later.
"Who put sugar in your salt shakers?" Dylan heard a strange voice from
above say. She tried to look up but her vision was blurry from crying.
"God?" Dylan felt overjoyed, God was telling her that everything was
going to be alright, just like she had wished in the fountain.
"Erm, I might be, but that's personal. Everyone else calls me Rob!"
the strange voice said.
Dylan found herself being stood up and flung over a shoulder. This
'Rob' person was taking her somewhere.
"What are you doing?!?!?! My missions not completed yet and I have to
go!!!" Dylan tried to struggle but he was stronger than he looked.
"I believe you've had more loops than fruits in your breakfast. I'm
takin you to the nurse, spazzy pants." He giggle explained.
"What does that even mean??!?! And why'd you call me spazzy pants??
Put me down!!" Dylan shouted, flailing her legs.
"Would you rather me call you crazy legs? I'll put you down if you
stop attacking me." He giggled.
"Fine." Dylan stopped kicking and he sat her on a bench next to a
water fountain. "Now tell me what this missiony mission thing is all
abouts." he ordered.
Dylan looked at Rob for the first time. He was defentely her age, but
she had never seen him in any classes. He had longish brown hair, just
grazing his dark lashes. He was tall and slender, but also strong and
in perfect shape. His teeth were iPod white and his eyes were silvery
grey. He was beautiful. And although he talked in a confusing way,
Dylan felt that she understood it all.
"I-Its my old friend. I want to hang out with her again. I miss her.
But she told me that she doesn't think I have good enough taste
anymore to hang out with her, which is stupid because she's the one
with bad taste. Well, not in clothes, but in the way she acts... And
sometimes food too. Yuck. But anyway, she gave me a mission that I
have to complete before the end of the school day. I have to find a
hot guy that massie would aproove of. And if I don't I can never hang
out with her or her friends again. It's just so stupid, I don't even
know why I agreed to this." Dylan leaned her head on the wall and
sighed.
"It sounds like my lady has gotten herself in some trouble." He
stated, smiling.
"Your lady? I barely even know you and now Im your lady?" Dylan felt
confused but she also felt like she wanted to burst out laughing.
"Well I did find you in a hallway. And I believe the rules are finders
keepers losers weepers. And my answer is yes.
"Yes to what?" Now Dylan was just confused.
"Ill be your Massie approved guy to proove that you have good taste!"
He flashed a smile in her direction.
"You're pretty full of yourself, aren't you?" Dylan joked.
"I like to think of myself as especially confident." He said proudly.
"Okay fine. You'll do. But we have to hurry and find Massie. We have
like 4 minutes!"
They found Massie in here usual spot, under her favorite maple tree.
Dylan fixed Robs hair one last time and approached Massie, completely
out of breath.
Massie stood and silently inspected Rob. She felt his hair for
silkiness and looked at the tags in his clothes for designers.
"Whats your name?" Massie asked professionally.
"I'm Rob" He responded seductively, just like Dylan had told him to.
"Why haven't I ever met you before?" Massie twirled her hair around
her finger and batted her eyes, abviously taking an interest in Dylans
fake date.
"My dad gets transferred a lot for his job. I just got here last
night." He said smoothly.
"You poor thing. Well feel free to ask me any questions about BOCD if
you ever feel lost. I'm great at giving tours." Massie winked at Rob.
"Ummm.." Rob said awkwardly, but before he could finish his sentence,
Isaac blew the car horn of the Range Rover, telling Massie to rap up
her flirting session.
"Okay!!" Massie shouted at the car.
"He'll do. Good job, Dyl. Come on, we gotta hurry before Isaac decides
to lecture me again." Massie said, holding her hand out to her old
friend, an offer that told her she was back in the PC.
"One second. I'll meet you in the car." Dylan replayed, smiling.
Massie nodded her head catiously and headed for the car.
Dylan turned towards Rob. "Thanks. For everything. You were perfect."
Dyl smiled.
"Anything to get my skittles to the top of the rainbow." He smiled,
then walked away.
Dylan felt as if everything was right. She was back in the Pretty
Committee, she had a crush on a guy like no other, and she was pretty
sure that he liked her back. It was the perfect day.
She was drenched in sunlight and love as she walked towards the shiny
black car where her four cherished friends were waiting for her.
The worst had come and gone...for now.
